Drive-In/Drive-Thru Racking Systems
Increase Storage Space & Productivity With Drive-In/Drive-Thru Rack
Drive-in storage rack utilizes upright frames, rails, and ties to allow a vehicle to enter the rack structure from one side only and pick up or deliver pallets on continuous rails - LIFO (Last In First Out). For repetitive product application and addressing the need to take advantage of cubic space available for storage, when block stacking is not expedient, drive-in rack is the right application. A drive-in rack is closed at one end, allowing for last-in, first-out storage.
Drive-in racking systems are typically
subject to more abuse than selective racks due to the way
they are utilized, so rack integrity and strength are very
important factors. A drive-in racking system is ideal for
cooler or freezer applications. Single-entry drive-in rack allows a lift
truck to enter from one side, with the supporting beam
in the rear of the rack. Double-entry
drive-in rack allows lift trucks to enter from both
sides, with the supporting beam in the middle of the rack.
A drive-in rack differs from a drive-thu rack in its use
of the supporting beam. Drive-in racks can increase productivity
and use up to 80% less space than selective storage racks.
Can be installed in conventional warehouses
or as the supporting structure of rack supported buildings.

Benefits of Drive-In Rack:
- Last-In/First-Out storage is created using the same entry and exit point on each aisle or storage bay used to access loads
- Highest density pallet racking system available
- Drive-in pallet rack efficiently utilizes the most surface and height space available – more than any other system
- Offers load flexibility for both weight and volume
Drive-Thru Racking Systems
A drive-thru racking system is similar to a drive-in rack except that the lift truck is capable of driving straight through the structure at any storage location along the aisle. A drive-thru rack is also open at both ends, allowing for First-In/First-Out storage (FIFO).
