BMA Food Bank in Brownsville TX

The BMA Food Bank of Brownsville, Texas was established in February 2009 in support of the Brownsville ISD “Homeless Youth Connection Project”.

Brownsville Texas has the highest poverty rate in the USA of 40.2%.  This organization supports over 1400 children and young adults that attend school in the Brownsville district area. Their support of students through a “Snack Pack Bag Program” on an emergency need basis provides a much needed “Hand Up, and not a Hand Out!”  Through community efforts and donations of businesses, churches, and other organizations they assemble snack pack bags on bi-monthly basis.

The BMA Food Bank of Brownsville is a 100% volunteer organization. Their main support of volunteers come from the local community.  Community support is what keeps this important organization’s doors open.  Without community support, this organization and others like it, would cease to help many people in need.

W.W. Cannon is proud to partner with BMA Food Bank and the Brownsville ISD “Youth Connection Project” to help fight hunger in the community.  A donation was made of a 19 bay pallet rack system to assist with food and supply storage.

We are thankful to have the opportunity to assist with such a worthy project as this one: fighting hunger in the community.
