Freight Charges

All freight priced based on the point of origin unless otherwise specified. Wherever appropriate we may ship UPS. Overnight and other special shipments must be cleared in advance with our customer service representatives. Unless you specify otherwise, we will always ship “best way”. You are responsible for all shipping charges assessed by the shipping carrier.

If an item is back-ordered, it will be shipped immediately when it becomes available. Shipping and handling costs are based on the weight of individual cartons in shipment, not the total weight of all cartons. Shipments requiring a skid or special packaging may be subject to a crating/skid charge.

You may request shipment via your own freight carrier. When you request a different freight carrier all products ordered will be shipped freight collect. You are responsible for all charges from your freight carrier. Your freight carrier will bill you for the cost of shipping according to their terms of service.

Freight Estimates

Freight Quotes are estimates and should be used for budgetary purposes only. Actual Freight charges are not determined until the order is shipped.

International Shipments

For shipping outside the United States, fees related to customs are not included.

Loading Dock & Receiving Arrangements

Some additional questions to ask prior to requesting shipment include:

  • Do you need a shipping notification?
  • Is this a commercial or residential location?
  • Will you need inside delivery?
  • Do you need expedited delivery?
  • Do you have a dock?
  • If yes, do you have equipment such as a forklift to move the shipment?
  • If not, do you require a lift gate on the delivery truck?
  • If not, is the opening on your building large enough to accept shipment?
  • If not, do you have equipment to move the shipment?
  • Do you have people to unload?
  • Is the destination on the ground floor?
  • If not, do you have a freight elevator?

If you need additional services or shipping options, during checkout add your comments to the “Special Instructions or Comments About Your Order” section with your shipping needs. You can also contact us prior to placing an order to receive an estimated freight quote.

You’re responsible for receiving and unloading the delivery at your facility. If you have special delivery requirements, let us know when you place the order and we’ll do what we can to accommodate your needs. Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have about shipping and delivery.

We would like to let you know that providing inaccurate shipping information will result in an inaccurate freight quote and may incur additional shipping charges. Final determination of what shipping options and charges are required to complete the delivery will be determined by the shipping carrier.

Damaged Shipments

Please inspect your shipment before accepting delivery. If it shows any external damage, accept it only after the driver has noted the damage on both his and your copies of the delivery receipt. Do not sign the delivery receipt unless this is noted. Keep all containers and packing material for inspection. If, upon opening a shipment, you find a shortage or concealed damage, it must be reported within 72 hours from receipt of goods or you will relinquish your right to make a claim. The buyer is responsible for making the damage claim directly and promptly to the carrier. W.W. Cannon’s responsibility for loss and damage ceases when the products are accepted for shipment by the carrier.
